Three amino acids (cystine, cysteine and methionine) contain sulphur in organism. These amino acids are found in all proteins, in insulin and keratin (protein of cutaneous epithelium, hair and nails).

Sulphur is important for the activity of some enzymes; it is in the composition of hormones.

Sulphur is a component of cartilaginous tissue.

It acts to make your hair light and gives sleekness, reduces strength of dandruff, retards loss of hair.

 

Food containing sulphur

The main reservoir of sulphur is albuminous food.

  • Meat and milk products
  • Leguminous food and cereal products
  • Poultry and fish
  • Eggs and beans
  • Broccoli and cauliflower
  • Garlic

Sulphur is found in biotin.

 

Dosage

Requirement of sulphur relies on requirement of amino acids.

 

Symptoms of sulphur deficiency

Nails gather matted colour and easily chip, when organism lacks for sulphur.

Sulphur deficiency doesn’t develop using sufficiently of proteins.
